Teknos Helo Yacht Varnish is a fast drying urethane alkyd based full gloss clear varnish with good resistance properties for yacht wood in either fresh or sea water.

Best Uses

Teknos Helo Yacht provides excellent resistance to action by weather and water. The varnish film has good gloss retention and does not crack or disintegrate. The varnish contains UV absorber, and therefore the resultant coat yellows very little. Teknos Helo Yacht does not yellow even in sea water. It protects the woodwork against greying and cracking.

Teknos Helo Yacht film is hard and at the same time elastic and thus withstands abrasion and impacts. Detergents, grease or oil do not damage it. Examples of uses are yachts, furniture and other woodwork whenever a durable varnish coat is desired.

Application

Clean the surfaces from grease and dirt. Wash varnished surfaces with Teknos Rensa Super paint cleaner. Matt down old, intact varnish coats. If the old varnish coat is brittle or flaking, it is removed by scraper and paint remover. Cautious burning off can also be used. Thereafter the surface is sanded. Object susceptible to moisture are before the varnishing primed with clear Teknos Woodex Base priming oil. Sand the surface again before varnishing and remove the dust.

Stir the varnish thoroughly before use down to the bottom of the can. Dilute the varnish for priming by about 20% with Teknosolv 1621. Sand lightly and remove the dust before the top coating. Top coat with undiluted Teknos Helo Yacht varnish. Apply two to four coats of the varnish. Sand lightly and remove the dust between all varnish coats.
